Footballer Sadio Mane has fulfilled his statement made two years ago about marrying a woman who is devoted to prayer and not active on social media. The ex-Liverpool striker recently married his long-time girlfriend, Aisha Tamba, in a private ceremony held in Senegal on January 7, 2024.

The wedding, which took place in Keur Massar, Dakar, was attended by family, friends, and fellow footballers. Reports indicate that Mane, 31, first met his wife when she was 16, the legal age of consent in Senegal. It was also mentioned that Mane had financially supported her during her time in school.

In 2022, Mane had spoken about his preferences in a life partner, stating, “I’ve seen a lot of girls asking me why I am not married, but sorry you might be wasting your time. The woman I marry will not be on social networks. I want to marry a woman who respects God and prays well.
